Christian Stengel

Christian Stengel laid the foundation for his career in IT security during his mathematics studies, where he specialized in discrete structures and cryptography. Since 2001, he has been shaping Germany’s e‑ticketing ecosystem, with a strong focus on integrating hardware‑based security components. Over the years, Christian has built deep expertise in eID security through his involvement in multiple identity‑management projects. At Deutsche Telekom Security, he served as project lead for the national research programs OPTIMOS 1.0 and 2.0, helping establish an open, practical ecosystem for mobile identities. He also headed the innovation track within the Smart eID initiative. Today, Christian works as a Lead Architect and Business Developer. He delivers secure‑element–centric solutions (eSE/eUICC) via Telekom’s SE Gateway and plays a key role in shaping EUDI‑wallet‑ready products that turn research innovations into deployable, scalable solutions.
